Located just off Lichfield Street,
Marsupial Warehouse hosted a significant installation by Christchurch artist,
Scott Flanagan. This work comprised of
a large reflective wall piece made from woven video tape, and an imposing composite
floor sculpture which sat adjacent. Made
from a variety of materials, Flanagan’s installation oscillated around themes
of nationalism, terrorism, security and fear as well as commonplaces odes to
kitsch, reproduction processes, handicraft as counterbalance, and domestic
complacency.
Flanagan’s show was also accompanied
by a small publication, ‘More Fresh Terror’.
Marsupial Warehouse also hosted a series of
musical performances by the Tennis Coats, Seth Rees, High Places, Dan Deacon,
Adam Willets, and Tim Coster, and a video project by Miranda Parkes.
